Baylor College of Medicine is located in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), the world's largest medical center. The TMC includes many research facilities, the world's largest children's hospital, and the world's largest cancer hospital. The high density of both basic and clinical researchers offers unprecedented opportunities for training and collaboration.

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is world renowned in many disciplines including Neuroscience and Genetics. BCM is located adjacent to Rice University, the highest-ranked university in Texas with nationally-recognized strengths in science and engineering. BCM is also located minutes away from the University of Houston, a large Tier One research university.

The cultural diversity of Houston translates into a diversity of cuisine: Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Latin american, Texmex, Indian, Ethiopian, New American, and more! And of course the crawfish (see left) and BBQ are fantastic! 

GREAT SPORTS

Houston has size major league teams: the Texans (football), the Astros (baseball), the Rockets (basketball), Dynamo (soccer), Dash (soccer), and SaberCats (Rugby). There are also college sports teams.  

GREAT ARTS, MUSEUMS, AND CULTURAL EVENTS

Houston is the fourth biggest city in the USA and, accordingly, has a thriving cultural scene. Museums include the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural Science, and the Children's Museum. Houston is home to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, The Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, and multiple theater companies.
